Dark red velvet ground with large flowers. There is one selvege. The other edge has two small cuts where the piece was attached to the sample book. This sample piece was purchased from an auction in Paris and came from the famous Scheurer Company which was one of Europe's great textile printers based in Mulhouse in Alsace, France. There is a label in the corner of the piece that reads "17508 721".
