This neat little excavated grouping of original camp artifacts includes a Revolutionary War clay pipe bowel, early one piece cast buttons, period tack head, a relic sewing thimble in the open face stile common to military camp and fort excavations from the colonial era through the Civil War. The grouping also includes an early pressed lead seal as was used to identify cotton bail destination and origin. This one bears a diamond figure with what seems to be the name ARS?N?E over MILLS with P. Thomas and the initials P.T. T. on the obverse. A small (approx 41 caliber) ball bullet and a couple of relic trinkets round out the group. A nice inexpensive little relic grouping that will be an ideal starter for a budding collector / historian. ( Illustrated here with a modern U.S. quarter for size comparison. )
