Late 1920s American Flyer Red Tin Windup Loco & Tender This listing features a terrific and very hard to find late 1920’s American Flyer train for you. This is a red tin windup locomotive & tender. It comes to you in terrific condition and still displays great. The locomotive is a windup and the windup mechanism is strong and works great. The tender has a spot for a battery and as I understand is supposed to control the headlight – but not sure how that is supposed to work – so that part has not been tested. T is a cord attached to the engine but looks like the spade clip that would go to the tender is missing. Great detailing on both pieces and most of the original paint remains intact. Detailing on the loco is copper colored and shows some wear. Still a terrific display. Be sure to checkout the photos and captions for additional detail and information.
