A late 19th Century/Early 1900s Italian violin. I've recently had the violin inspected by 3 dealers in London, all of which believe it was made around 1900s in Italy. One believes it was made somewhere in Southern Italy. Labeled: “Celani Constantino fece in Ascoli Piceno 1898”.None of us believe that the label is genuine and therefore, was probably not made by Celani but probably a copy of one of his previously made violins. Although we could be wrong.Nonetheless, it is a superb Italian violin. The violin has been fully restored and is ready to play. The sound is very much of Italian origin and is matured. Very complex sound with beautiful tone and vibrant projection. Would definitely fill a large concert hall and would suit all professional players. As a professional violinist, I know what it takes to make a great performance and this violin would definitely do the trick. The violin is of very high quality and build. It has been beautifully preserved, it has not been damaged under the bridge, bass bar, sound post etc. All (small and uncritical) cracks have been repaired professionally and are incredibly stable. The violin has two pieces maple back; the table is of high quality medium grained spruce. Purfling has been painstakingly inlaid front and back.Full size 4/4 violinBack length (excluding bottom of neck): 360mmTotal length: 5
