Pontificale Romanum Summorum pontificum jussu editum a Benedicto XIV. et Leone XIII. pont. max. recognitum et castigatum PUBLISHED: Ratisbonæ, Neo Eboraci et Cincinnatii: Pustet, 1888. DESCRIPTION: Complete in four 8vo volumes, including appendix volume, with slipcase. Text is in Latin, printed in red & black, with neumatic notation throughout. Lovely chromolithograph frontispiece in Volume I, as well as countless illuminated initials, decorative ornaments, head-pieces, and tail-pieces throughout all four volumes. Bound in original full black calf with gilt lettering to spines and gilt crosses to each cover. All edges gilt, with one marker ribbon per volume, anbd gorgeous purple and gilt patterned endpapers. Spines are uniformly sunned to a rich brown color, with some mild rubbing and wear to ends. Bindings and hinges are all intact and firm. A stunning set, in very good condition.
