It features the cover of "The White Book" and illustrations from it.The coin is a dedication to "The White Book", a masterpiece created by an outstanding Latvian writer and painter Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš (1877–1962). Its first part was published in 1914, with the second to follow in 1921. It is a fictional memoir of the writer's childhood seen through the eyes of the protagonist Jancis, and, at the same time, a panorama of the Latvian rural life at the close of the 19th century, supplemented with heartfelt illustrations by the author himself.The deceptively provincial lessons of "The White Book" are at the very heart of the patriotic call "Remember Latvia!" once voiced by Jaunsudrabiņš.
