DESCRIPTION VERY SUITABLE FOR CARVING, INLAY AND CABOCHON MAKING Rarest Jadeite of the word; Turkish Purple Jade....Mohs Hardness scale 7, jadeite rate is maxium 85 %. This type of Jade was being mined only in one place in Turkey named Balikesir. It is a desert area where snakes and wild animals live. But the mine was closed due to difficult working conditions far from civilisation. You can google this Jade as Turkish purple Jade or Turkish Lavender Jade. You will find great many information and pictures about this stone on the net. After cutting and polishing a cabochone of 20-25 grams, It sells between 50 to 100 usd piece in retail shops in USA. I have seen this recently during internet surfing and I was very much surprised.
