DESCRIPTION: Lazuli are a French band formed in 1998 with an aim to create totally original and unique-sounding music.This is their first official release, Amnesie , originally published in 2003, now reissued on the larger Musea label. Similar to the group After Crying in terms of musical approach, though their styles are surely different. Lazuli mix their love for ethnic and world music with light progressive rock and modern pop. Their sound has also been compared instrumentally and musically to Peter Gabriel’s fourth album. The vocals are quite poppish and modern, yet absolutely great in their moodiness, and compliment the music which draws on ageless influences.
