I purchased both the LD SYSTEMS and the SHURE SM58 last year, I made up a new home studio as both my wife and daughter sing and I have a local neighbour who used to be a professional singer. As you can see by my other items listed, I bought everything I needed for live work in case we went out to perform plus home recording equipment. For different reasons the party never started and it was just myself to record backing tracks, the singers never came. We had a session on new years eve where we used the SM58 for a few hours but the LD SYSTEMS kit has never been used. I bought the equipment from DV247 to make sure it was all UK compatible and I opened the LD SYSTEMS box just to look and make sure it was all there and not damaged on delivery. No parts of the LD SYSTEMS has come out of its plastic packs, the ear buds have NOT been taken out of the packets and most definitely have not been in any ears.This is the second home studio set up I've had and the last time we had Sennheiser radio mics with wireless transmitter packs. They were expensive, but I never liked them - amazing brand Sennheiser may be but I didn't like the radio gear. I have an excellent relationship with DV247, I spent £15,000 over time in 2012 and the chap in the shop knows his stuff, is honest and looks after me. He recommended the LD SYSTEMS for the price point I had in mind as the best buy technically and value for money. He's got it right on all the other kit I bought so I've no reason to doubt that this kit is of high quality vs it's price point. Of course these don't have to be used for vocals either.I decided to pair up the SHURE SM58 microphone with the LD SYSTEMS package to provide what should be a superb bundle for any vocalist. Unless you've been locked underground for 20 years you must have heard of the SHURE SM58 mic, it's reputation and the favouritism it has amongs top vocalists, I spot vocalists on TV and YOUTUBE using this Microphone over and over again. We only used it for a few hours and both the girls commented on how warm and accurate the sound was, I hardly had any EQ on the desk raised nor lowered to get the sound they wanted. Another stand out was the fact that we were in a bedroom with a 1,500 watt PA system (including the sub) - they were stading about 8-10' away from the PA, the compressors were kicking in but there was no feedback. The Sennheiser radio mics we used to have used to 'feed' like hell, they were one of the reasons we switched to using IEM's and sold our floor monitor as everytime they walked by the floor monitor it would feedback even with the notch filter switched on those mics still used to feed. If you are still using a floor monitor, well it's time to trade up to an in ear system. Problem with most floor monitors is they don't have the power to keep up with the rest of the band so you have to ramp up the volume and then the feedback risk is there. Switch over to IEM's (In Ear Monitors) and it doesn't matter what the band do, you're ok and you can also sell your floor monitor. The Shure SM58 is a 'line mic' and I'll supply you with an XLR cable as well so you have everything you need to get you going straight from opening the packing.Would you please spare a moment to look at my other items?
