Le Cigalou originated in the countries of the sun of Provence...the regions where the knives sing with the plate. Each knife is entirely assembled by hand with each part carefully fitted by the hands of the cutlers of Pradel Brossard. The whole assembly requires about fifty operations to give the Le Cigalou its dress of nobility and tradition. The blade is 12C27 stainless retained with a notch of safety of pump before crimped of a cicada. Stainless steel lock back mechanism using the forged cicada as the release. The handle is exotic Ebony Wood. Each blade is numbered, authenticating a true work of quality and are of blackened color, because they remain in "their black of forging mill". Their edge cannot thus be deteriorated by the operations of polishing. They have a frightening edge, being razor sharpened with leather as days gone by. Le Cigalou, as history tells it, was created by a young man in his image, powerful and robust, and completely different from the slim silhouette and fine blade of the knives of Aubrac that he admired, but which seemed to disappear when he took them in the broad palm of his hand.
