A box of tools used by a harness maker in Sauk Centre, Minnesota in the 1890's. They are antiques, although some are still be made for use in leather work today. Many are well worn, with the patina of age and many, many hours of use in a man's hands. Included: two Saddler's half round knives with leather shields; two paring knives and one collar knife; nine awls with small points and one stitching awl; five large stilleto-style punches or awls; two gouges, one labeled M. Bulcher cast steel, and one labeled Schmidt Mollenhoff; two creasers, one bevel and one single, both labeled C. S. Osborne; three edge shaves and one Bissonette; one saddler's pincers and one square hole pincers or pullers; four wheel prickers or stitch markers, two labeled C. S. Osborne est'd 1826 and one labeled the Everhard Mfg. Co., Canton Ohio; one channeller; two nail claws, one labeled C. S. Osborne; one wooden marking gauge; one saddler's hammer; one riveting hammer; one flat hammer head; one file; one compass race; and one calipers labeled C. S. Osborne.
