I don't know w to start with this album, it is an absolute gem! I picked this up at a garage sale last month as I was driving through Kansas. It contains 67 wonderful antique photos ~ 8 tintypes, 17 cabinet photos, 38 CDV's, 4 other photos. The album appears to maybe be from Pennsylvania because many of the photos have backmarks of Gettysburg and other towns in PA. T are 4 photos (2 cab, 2 CDV) of a mulatto woman named "Julia" at different points in her life ~ these are from Chicago. T are 2 CDV's of elderly women that appear to be copies of dagguereotypes. T is a CDV of a nun from New Haven Conn. that appears to be signed "sister Agnes" on back I can't tell. T is a CDV of General Grant, T is a CDV of a Civil War officer signed "Arthur Brown" on back. T is a CDV of a man that appears to be a copy of a very early painting. Next is my favorite, a CDV of a Union Cavalry soldier in knee high boots, with his sword, gun in his belt, nice eagle belt plate and cap box. He has a whole lot of character with his arms crossed and hat cocked. Next is a CDV of a teenage girl who appears to have some kind of Circus outfit on. Next is my second favorite, a CDV of a young man with a trapeze bar with ropes on it, in his hand ~ this also has a Chicago backmark. Next is a cabinet photo of 3 young ladies, 1 is holding a violin and one is holding some sort of guiter ~ signed on back "Madge, Ruby, Julia Welch" T are other photos of these ladies and thier brothers in this album with Id's. All other photos in the album are very nice but these were my favorite. When I bought this album, I thought about spliting it up and selling the photos individually, but decided I couldn't do it. This album looks to have been untouched in many many years, and I don't want to be the one who separates it. The album is in great condition, still very well bound. The only condition problems are that as I took some of the photos out to see what was on back, the brittle paper tore in some places. This album also appears to have been stored in an attic or something because on 2 of the corners you can see w a mouse has nibbled a little, however it doesnt affect its beauty. I only have 12 photos in the listing, but if you need more or need close ups, I would be more than happy to send them to you, just gimme your email address. This album is a real treasure don't let it pass you buy. T are also family names mentioned on some of the photos, I didn't go back through all of them because I didn't want to further damage the pages, but if you need I can go back through and tell you names, feel free to ask any questions, I want you to know what you are buying. Thanks for your time and good luck. This album is very heavy so shipping in the U.S. will be $8, overseas ask for a quote, insurance is optional at $1.35.
