The amazing ATMOS clock was first produced by the LeCoultre Company in Switzerland in the 1930's and continued to be marketed until very recently with prices ranging upwards to $3,000 at the end of their production. This well preserved model has been cleaned and adjusted for perfect operation. It will never need winding since the mechanism is powered by a clever device which includes a bellows that responds to small changes in atmospheric pressure (always present every day) that causes the clock to rewind itself without needing attention from the owner. Almost the mythical "perpetual motion" machine! Not quite of course, since sooner or later, everything wears out. However, this lovely example is in such excellent condition it promises to serve its timekeeping function for many years to come. See our photographs for a glimpse of the wonderful appearance of this gold-plated, 15-jeweled ATMOS.
