Hello and thank you for looking at this unsmoked pipe. I'm selling a few pipes in order to buy a few pipes. This unique unsmoked pipe can still be seen on Von Ercks web site under "consignments." The nomenclature reads LEE VON ERCK 50074A DBM, which means this pipe was made in April of 2005. This is a very large pipe. The length is 6 ¾. Height 2 ¾ , Bowl depth 2 ¼, Weight is 78.3 grams. The pipe is mostly smooth with the backside sandblasted in Erck's "morel" finish. This pipe never made it to my pipe cabinet for smoking rotation. It has been in safely put away in its original leather drawstring pouch. Von Erck's pipes have been described as the "most American" in the pipe world. They are usually long and slender, much like the maker himself. His oil curing method is famous, which is reported to greatly reduce breaking-in time. His honeycomb-like finish he calls "morel" is achieved by blasting, though no one can figure out how it is done. Von Erck has been making pipes for over 15 years, and is currently using wood from the same cutter as Teddy Knudsen. This is a no-reserve auction.
