This Auction is for the George Z. Lefton lighthouse West Quoddy Head Lighthouse West Quoddy Head, Maine "Built in 1858" from the Lefton's Historic American Lighthouse Collection The hangtag description: Although it rises just 49 feet, the light at West Quoddy Head is situated so that its lens is 83 feet above the water. It replaces and earlier light station ordered to be built by Thos. Jefferson. The present light was automated in 1988. «» The base is stamped "West Quoddy 1858" «» «» "00136" «» "© 1991 Geo. Z. Lefton" «» The original Lefton sticker is on the bottom. It was made in China. This lighthouse includes a light which is controlled by an on/off switch on the cord. The base measures 7" x 4" and it is 9" tall. It is in very nice condition with no chips or cracks and comes from a smoke free home. Original box, styrofoam packaging, and hang tag included. The box has W QUODDY written in pen on the top and has a few dirt spots on it (see pictures). This would make a great gift or addition to any lighthouse collection.
