Army Issue: Legion of Merit UN-SIGNED Certificate . Unissued and in Mint Condition! Blank, Never Filled In! * Once every 10 years or so, give or take a few years, the so called "Form Date" is updated. However, other than the date in the Lower Left Hand Corner being updated, the rest of the Form/certificate almost NEVER Changes. Something VERY IMPORTANT for you to consider when seeking a replacement certificate is this: ... ... You DO NOT want a certificate from "2000" ( i.e. "Form Dated "2000" "2003") if the award/certificate you earned was BEFORE 2003. YOU NEED TO PROCURE THE CORRECT EARLIER "Form Dated" certificate; (otherwise you invite questions as to legitamacy). I can offer you the Earlier Form Dated certificates; It is better for you to have a certificate printed BEFORE you earned the award ... not printed AFTER you received your award! It is too hard to believe the AUTHENTICITY of a Certificate DATED SOME YEARS AFTER YOUR AWARD (OR SERVICE). For example, WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A CERTIFICATED DATED 2003 OR LATER, FOR AN AWARD/CERTIFICATE you EARNED in the 1980s or 1990s or early 2000-02? IT IS TOO HARD TO BELIEVE OR EXPLAIN. It is easy to believe a Certificate that is Form Dated 1981 for an award earned AFTER THAT DATE; because this actually did occure & still does occur. Don't give people a reason to doubt you, by having a "Form Dated" certificate dated after your award was made.
