Legras Baccarat Muller Freres Nouveau Cameo Art Glass I just purchased this French Art Nouveau vase from a prominent estate in Central Virginia. The vase is unsigned but typical of the fine acid cut back / cameo designs done by a number of French glass studios during the later part of the 19th century. Legras et Cie, Baccarat, and Muller Freres all produced this style of cameo ware. The vase is beautifully executed with a sapphire blue ground finished with a satin, acid-wash finish. The cut back face is decorated with a floral spray showing nasturtium (?) pansy (?) blossom hand painted in mauve / magenta and olive green. The piece is signed with an intertwined monogram "PW" "PAW" (?) (Please let me know if you can make a definitive attribution). The vase measures just over 12" high and 3 1/4" in diameter. The vase has a recessed, ground circular pontil. The vase is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. The gold enamel highlights show some wear, as shown in the pictures. This elegant Nouveau cameo design would make a nice addition to any collection of late 19th century / early 20th century Continental art glass.In order to provide you a variety of shipping options, please do not use eBay checkout, UNTIL AFTER I HAVE CONTACTED YOU. If you do not purchase insurance you bear full responsibility for loss or damage to the parcel in transit. I do not charge any additional handling or materials fees. Payment must be received within ten days following the close of the auction. I accept personal checks (with appropriate ebay postive feedback) and money orders. I WILL SHIP PARCELS WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE PAYMENT DATE, PLEASE DO NOT ANTICIPATE IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT. I typically expedite quite quickly, but based on a few experiences, my policy is the parcel will leave within a week of payment. All Sales are Final unless t is SIGNIFICANT POST PRODUCTION DAMAGE which is not disclosed in the description or photographs. I DO NOT accept returns for production flaws or normal wear under any circumstances. You may return the item within 3 days of receipt for a refund if we agree t is a discrepancy. I will not refund shipping charges. I have tried to accurately describe the item but am not an expert and highly recommend interested bidders ask any questions or request additional photographs to make their own evaluation of the piece.
