We do not list slides containing embedded artifacts or scratches unless there is redeeming value in the image's rarity that compensates for any visible flaws, a fact that would not be lost to the slide collector. Such a slide would not be listed in the first place unless the flaws were overcome by the slide's importance and redeeming historical value. While the scanned image is a generally excellent representation of what you will receive, due to the age of many vintage slides there may be specks of dust or hairline scratches so fine that they do not show up on the scanned image. Given that many of our images are in the 40 to 60 year old range, most slides will benefit from a gentle brushing using a genuine high quality 1/2 to 3/8 inch sable brush that can be obtained at an art supply store or a compressed air canister.
