THIS DOLL WAS JUST SOLD ON EBAY AND THE HIGH BIDDER SAID SHE COULD NOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR IT. IF YOU CAN NOT PAY FOR THE DOLL, PLEASE DO NOT BID! ADORABLE BEAUTIFUL CONDITION LENCI FELT DOLLHE IS FROM THE 300 SERIES FROM 1929. HE IS MARKED LENCI ON THE BOTTOM OF HIS FOOT BUT I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE HIS SHOES OFF. I CAREFULY FIXED HIS HAIR FOR SOME OF THE PICTURES.HE MEASURES 17 INCHES & IS ALL ORIGINAL INCLUDING HIS SHOES. HE HAS HIS BALILLA UNIFORM ON WITH AN IDENTIFICATION INSIGNIA EMBROIDERED ON AN APPLEQUE. THIS DOLL IS A PART OF HISTORY! HIS TIE AROUND HIS NECK IS UNDONE. IT IS FINE, I AM NOT SURE HOW TO TIE IT RIGHT SO I AM LEAVING THAT TO THE NEW OWNER. Certainly no story of early Lenci doll production is complete without taking into account the social and political factors at play in the world at large, from the Great War, when in 1918, Madame Lenci experimented wih her first dolls in her kitchen while her husband Enrico was at war, to the impact of Fascist movement in Italy, through the dynamics of the" Roaring 20's" and the Great Depression which almost closed down the factory, and later on when the factory was bombed during WW2, destroying much of the building, including irreplaceable archive items.
