This is a pretty 1920s Lenci Boudoir Lady doll with a Lillian Gish type face. She is wearing an elaborate costume consisting of an embroidered blouse, applique skirt, felt trimmed organdy flounced petticoats and bloomers. She is wearing a red felt basque/corset, which is a later addition and vintage stockings and Lenci style felt shoes. Molded felt face. Stuffed cloth body. She is wearing a red net scarf that is not original, but brings out her features. Middle two fingers are joined. Applied ears. Zig-Zag stitching on the back of the neck. Original mohair hair. 26" tall. Dates to 1920s. She has a dusty appearance. Her face paint has been retouched. There are some minor surface nibbles around the back of the neck under her hair, otherwise I don't see any other moth holes on the doll. The felt on her wrists has worn off in places and there is felt missing from some of her fingers. There is felt missing from both of her palms. The shoulders have had repairs, there is thinning of the felt on the top of her right shoulder and there is stitching on both shoulders to reinforce the joint, the joint does still functions. Her biggest problem is that the cotton of her body has split around her lower tummy- see pics.
