Leningrad School Russian Painting Newcomb Macklin Frame Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album You are bidding on an incredible piece, created over 50 years ago by a fantastic Russian artist from the Leningrad School of Art. This piece is signed illegibly and dated 50 for 1950. I purchased it at an estate sale of Russian Art outside of D.C. and was initially drawn to it because of the thick imposto and pallet knife work, which is indicative of the Leningrad School. Description of Piece: When you first glance at this piece the thick impasto draws your eyes up a winding pathway through a small grove of trees to a quaint Russian river cottage. This style of using the pallet knife as the primary tool is impressionism mixed with a sort of pointilism. The colors are vivid and the whole piece is enclosed in a Newcomb Macklin Frame.
