Lenox 1991 Christmas Trees Around the World.....Germany the First Christmas Tree, First in a Limited Edition Series of ivory china plates decorated with 24 karat gold. Gold back stamp incorporates written historical information about the origin and development of the Christmas tree tradition. The 1991 plate captures the elegant simplicity of the first Christmas tree on display over 300 years ago found in Strasbourgh, Germany. Trees were decorated with fruits and nuits originally. Stunning Christmas tree plate measures 10 1/2" across and is mint in box with original printed paperwork. I have had it since first issue and displayed on table a few times over all those years and then stored with the Christmas things in box. It is in perfect like new condition, no nicks, chips or cracks.
