This is the base for the Lenox Fancy Free pattern Fondue set. I don't have the fondue vessel but I'm sure that one of the same Lenox small casseroles would work just fine. I have had this one for years, but never used it. The base is without flaw, no scratches, marks, chips or any other things to mention. The container for the fuel also looks like it has never been used. I think it would hold a small container of fuel that you buy in that gel type substance (oddly after 25 years in the food service industry, I can't remember the name of the fuel). The holder for it has a lid that slides to the side to put out the flame. The inside of this container does show some of the interior paint is missing. I don't know what caused this. I bought it from ebay, and though I never used it, I don't know if it was used when I bought it. The outside of the container is absolutely perfect, with a black base and nice shiny top. The baffle that goes on top of the ceramic holder and holds the fondue vessel does appear that it was used at least once. It is not burnt but does show that t is some discoloration as if someone lit a fire to see out it would work. These are so rare now and would be the perfect time to add it for you holiday parties. The china stoneware part is perfect showing no signs of wear at all.
