This is book # 76 out of 750 and a very low number being offered. There is not a dust jacket. AUTHOR: LeRoy Neiman. TITLE: Monte Carlo Chase, A Tale Told in Words and Pictures. PUBLISHER: Alfred van der Marck Editions. DATE/EDITION: May 1988/Stated First Printing. ILLUSTRATIONS: 61 beautiful plates (see photos for examples). DIMENSIONS: Approx. 12 3/4 x 12 1/4 inches with 123 pages, which includes a listing of all the plates as well as 2 pages of Neiman explaining the setting for Monte Carlo Chase (with photos of Neiman). COMMENTS: Signed by Neiman!! This is a terrific book, and a fun "art detective" story as well! The first 42 pages are Neiman's tale, illustrated by his art. The second part of the book is all art - pages 46 - 117. As I was reading the story, I was impressed at how easily Neiman puts the reader at the scene in Monte Carlo. You can see the whole thing - and the artwork is amazing! This package also includes the original post card invitation to the event celebrating the publication of the book, which was held at l'art et l'automobile in New York, NY. Jacques Vaucher, the owner of l'art et l'automobile is also mentioned as a character in the story.
