This is an original Leroy Neiman Watercolor/Mixed media on paper. I have owned this piece for 25 years. There is no fading or damage. It has been stored in a room where no sunlight ever hit the image. Any " Ali Nut " will cherish this piece as the highlight of their collection. The "Thrilla in Manilla" fight was the best, most famous fight of all time. This is an investment quality , sure to appreciate painting. I have many more detailed photographs, so please feel free to ask for any detail you would like to see.
Mr. Neiman signed this terrific painting and inscribed the following: " Anyone who knows Ali, know the hands on this drawing are Ali's hands." It is also dated and written at the very bottom, "Folk Arts Theatre, Manila, Sept. 26, 75", and " Training Frazier Fight" is written at the bottom right side next to the image of Ali sliding a punch. Included with the painting is the 1970's book, "Leroy Neiman, Art and Lifestyle" . Notice that many of the images are in like kind with those in the book. For reference take a look at and see the prices realized for Neiman's works. You will find that the price of this one, considering the inscription and the subject matter, is a major value. LeRoy Neiman is best known for his brilliantly colored, stunningly energetic images of sporting events and leisure activities. He is one of the most popular living artists in the United States. The style of this incredibly successful artist is familiar to a remarkably broad spectrum of people - "rich and poor, black and white, urban and rural, educated and illiterate," and young and old alike.LeRoy Neiman has served as the official artist for five Olympiads. In the Christian Science Monitor, Nick Seitz wrote that Neiman, who has been labeled an American Impressionist, "has the journalistic talent, as well as the artistic ability, to convey the essence of a game or contestant with great impact, from the Kentucky Derby to Wilt Chamberlain, from the America's Cup to Muhammad Ali, from the Super Bowl to Bobby Hull." Many of Neiman's pieces have appeared in the form of etchings, lithographs, silkscreen prints, sculptures and paintings, in the permanent collections of public and private museums and other institutions worldwide. These institutional acquisitions, along with sales of approximately 150,000 of his silkscreen prints to individuals, attest to the enormous appeal of his work.
