Here is a great set of letters ! 5 in all. Starting out with a letter from Asst Adj General Joseph Dickinson to Brigadier General Henry M Naglee instructing him where to set up camp for his brigade etc. The 2nd letter is from Lt William H Lawrence to Brigadier General Joseph Hooker dated April 18th 1862 about General Naglee's unwillingness to move his Brigade to the specified grounds. The 3rd letter is from Asst Adj General Joseph Dickinson to Brigadier General Henry M Naglee dated April 18th 1862 telling General Naglee to move his Brigade at once. Letter 4 (2 1/2 pages ) is from Colonel Nelson Taylor to General Hooker dated April 20th 1862, giving Hooker a complete report about General Naglee's refusal to cooperate. Letter 5 dated April 21 1862 is from General Hooker to Brigadier General Seth Williams Adjutant General Army of the Potomac and goes on about the arrest of General Naglee for his refusal to obey General Hookers instructions of the 15th. What a great set of letters ! Each marked on the back with a 1,2,3,4,5 although I do not think they were numbered correctly, but who knows I certainly wasnt there. I feel the scans and penmanship is clear enough to read however I will gladly rescan any or all of them if someone so desires. Just e-mail me. From the Marston collection.
