This is a RARE classic steel strung acoustic guitar by Herman Carlson Levin LS18 model serial number 446234 which dates to 1964. These are very few and far between nowadays. 51 years of history: I have owned it since the 60s. It was owned originally by Hugh - a close friend - who had fitted a pickup rather messily, also a volume knob and jack socket and a large white pearl sheet as a scratch plate - fashionable at the time. Hugh was a lovely guy with some mental health issues and the guitar ended up in a pawn shop in Tottenham. Hugh begged me to "buy" the ticket off him for next to nothing and, eventually, I agreed. Shortly after that he committed suicide and I reclaimed the guitar from pawn. I realised that he was determined that I should have the guitar. Also in the 60s, a luthier friend removed the pearl sheet and pickup, volume knob and jack socket, tidied the sound hole and polished the front . Please see the pictures. Needs new strings desperately - with new strings will produce the classic Levin 60s sound. Action is 5mm at 12th fret. Despite the alterations, this is still a lovely 60s classic Levin. Although I am a drummer (60s pro and, since 70s, semi-pro) this used to be my main guitar for playing folk songs, etc. While it is not in "showroom" original condition it is a lovely instrument with no cracks or repairs to
