Two volumes, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There" by Lewis Carroll. First edition, first printing. Published by the University of California Press in arrangement with The Pennyroyal Press of London, 1982. With preface and notes by James R. Kincaid, edited by Selywn H. Goodacre, and illustrated by Barry Moser. The volumes come protected in their original slipcase. The slipcase is in very good plus condition. Minor surface wear to the front and rear boards. The volumes are both in near fine condition. "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is bound in lavender boards with a red cloth spine. "Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There" is bound in light blue boards with a dark blue spine. Both volumes have faint sun fading to the spine but the lettering is still vibrant and intact. The perimeter edges are sharp and crisp and the textblock is in impeccable shape. There are numerous illustrations in both black-and-white and color. A beautiful set of one of the most imaginative stories ever written with amazing drawings that bring the fantasy to life.
