This beautiful Antique French Porcelain Clock Case with Hand Painted White & Purple Flowers is a stunning example of a Beautiful Large French porcelain or ceramic clock. T are NO MAKER'S MARKS ON THE CASE. This FANTASTIC old time piece was made in the late 1800's through early 1900's and is 15 inches high X 11 inches wide and about 5 inches deep. The 8 day time/strike movement is a signed Japy Freres. It has been completely disassembled, rebushed w necessary, cleaned and runs and keeps good time and comes with the its pendulum and winding key. This beautiful old clock strikes the hour and half hour on a pleasant sounding cup bell that resonates nicely and is very pleasing to the ear. The ultra perfect 4 inch porcelain dial is just beautiful with no cracks, hairlines or chips. The original bezel still retains the original beveled glass with no chips or cracks. The Floral Designs are still bright, beautiful and crisp on the front of the case along with the gold accents. (please see photo) It also has 2 heads as pillars on each side of the top of the clock. Some of the gilt on these is a little worn but, in no way detracts from this EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF FRENCH CERAMICS!!! T are NO CRACKS or BREAKS in the case. This LOVELY old clock will dress up any home decor or office that it is placed in as it is quite lovely!!! These Great old Porcelain clocks were made by many of the early American & French clock companies such as Ansonia, Seth Thomas, Waterbury, Gilbert, Krober, Marti, Vincenti & Cie and Farcot; E. Achille Brocot were used to decorate the mantles and parlors of many homes during the Victoria Art Nouveau era.. They were as popular as the black cast iron and wood cased clocks of that time.
