This colorful purse was handmade by the Maya women in the Guatemalan highlands. It includes a fine quality section of a Chichicastenango huipil which was originally woven on a backstrap loom. The dark blue cotton base cloth was handwoven on a foot powered floor loom. It is fully lined with a silky fabric, has a zipper closure and a long adjustable shoulder strap. The purse measures 12" x 11.5" and the shoulder strap measures approx 50" long x 1.25" wide. This item is one of a kind, the purse you see pictured is exactly what you will receive. Please be sure to check out my other items from Guatemala , all were personally hand selected during my travels in Guatemala .
