Item specifics and pictures will be posted shortly. ABOUT MY AUCTIONS GENERALLY: I buy and sell on eBay for the fun of it, and this is not my "job." I really try very hard to take clear and concise pictures to portray for you exactly what it is that you are bidding on. I also try to err on the side of caution with descriptions of the items that I list and to represent things as being of the quality that they actually are. I understand the valuation of items of collector and historical interest, and I know how to evaluate their condition correctly. As for all of the stuff below, you should read it before you bid. There are no real surprises, and if kind dealings and pragmatism are your M.O., then all should go quite well. In a word, all of what follows and my course of dealing generally is PRAGMATISM. If you are on eBay looking for a fight, if you intend to attempt to fleece me on some sort of technicality, or if you want me to be complicit in cheating your national government out of tariffs, then you should simply not bid. DOMESTIC SHIPPING METHODS, COSTS, & TIMES : I WILL GLADLY COMBINE SHIPPING ON ANY OF MY AUCTIONS. IN MOST INSTANCES, THE ITEMS THAT I SELL CAN BE SHIPPED DOMESTICALLY FOR $1 WHEN SHIPPED WITH ANOTHER PURCHASED ITEM. That is to say that, if you win one model and the shipping is $6, and then win two more models, the three models can be shipped for a total of $8. If, however, I strike gold, and I am selling ingots that weigh 50 pounds a piece, the combined shipping will be more. If you win or buy multiple lots, I will send you an invoice reflecting the actual shipping costs of the combined items, or you can request a total. I will ship pretty much however you want, although I do prefer to use the USPS where possible. I reserve the right to change the selected shipping method if the selected shipping method ends up being drastically more expensive than the amount paid. Usually the price difference between Priority and Parcel post is quite small. When this is the case, I usually upgrade people's shipping to Priority on my own dime. There are, however, rare situations where, because the thing ends up being an inch or two larger on one dimension than I expected, it ends up being very expensive to ship Priority. In these instances, I usually don't have the margin available to cover the difference, so I have to send the item Parcel Post. If the shipping is significantly less than what the buyer paid, I will refund the difference. There are also situations where the item is lighter than expected when packed, and is thereby eligible for First Class Mail. First Class is faster than Parcel Post, so I will send the item that way instead. I pack things extremely carefully ; in fact, I usually build the boxes in which I ship the stuff I sell in order to be sure that it is perfectly secured. This is a time consuming process, and I do not always get things in the mail within minutes of the auction ending! Most of the stuff that I sell is not of the sort that a buyer must have it in hand immediately, and, if you are not comfortable waiting two or three days for the item to go out, you need to either (a) email me and ask me if I can get it out immediately because of a particular situation you find yourself in, or (b) not bid on the item. I often do get everything out the day after auctions end, but, if you are in some sort of bizarre situation where it is of direst consequences that you get a vintage model or a piece of Americana in hand as soon as possible, then YOU NEED TO LET ME KNOW THAT! I am not relaying this to be rude; I just don't want the buyer to be disappointed, and I don't want to get low marks for something I relayed as a possibility up front. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I don't mind shipping pretty much anywhere, but please understand that First Class International, which is available for packages under 4 pounds and is the only relatively cheap means of shipping internationally, requires that I physically go to the post office. ... read more
