This is a wonderful Large walking Black Forest Bear measuring 12" long X 6" high X 4" wide. His face, nose and mouth are extremely well carved and very realistic. It is made of Linden wood probably from the Brienz carvers and attributed to Walter Linder and made around 1890 - 1900 period. He has a nice original patina with glass eyes, detailed red mouth with all of his teeth. His coat is feathered very naturally and detailed. His front left paw has been repaired but does not detract from the beauty. It must have broken at some point and glued back on. It is a professional job where the seam is very hard to notice from the top. I've included some close up shots.
This is a great example of an early Black Forest Bear during the period where the artists were at their prime. Don't miss this one!! Buyer pays shipping/insurance of $14.00. We prefer PayPal for payment method and only ship in the Continental US. Thanks for looking!!
