Library Bureau Sole Makers 20-Drawer Oak Card Catalog Cabinet This is a very rare 20-drawer Library Bureau oak card catalog cabinet recently pulled out of the basement of a school scheduled for demolition. The cabinet is in need of a full restoration . First the bad: A board is missing from the bottom of the left side, and two boards and two panels are missing from the bottom of the back. The veneer on the top piece has delaminated. One label holder is missing. Some of the drawer faces are damaged and would need to be repaired or replaced.Now for the good: This is a very rare configuration! All 20 drawers are present, and they all have their original handles. A few handles are bent but could be easily straightened. The drawers are made from solid wood with dovetail construction. The drawers have dividers and would be great for storing hardware (which is what it was previously used for) or any other small items. A 4-leg riser/base is included (I am not sure if it is original). Local pick up is strongly preferred for this item due to its somewhat fragile state (because of the missing bottom boards). If the buyer chooses to have this cabinet shipped, I will not be held responsible for any damage that occurs in transit. The price on this piece is firm.
