HO SCALE TRAIN SANTA FE GP38-2 DIESEL ENGINE Excellent Condition: Prev Stop Play Next "Welcome Friends" Up for your consideration is this "VINTAGE" Santa Fe Merger Route, GP38-2 Diesel Train Engine. It is Red & Silver with yellow road numbers 3500 on both sides of the cabin, and the yellow War Bonnet on the nose. The handrails are red with a Black base, trucks, and fuel tanks, from Life-Like trains, Made in Hong Kong. This is a very detailed HO-Scale Replica Model of the real thing; made just for your HO-scale electric train layout. This wonderful Heavy-Weighted Diesel Engine is vintage late 1970's, or early 80's. It will come to you direct and complete with no breaks or cracks noted on the shell body, but it does need the front coupler and airhorns on top. To look at the bottom of the train it appears to be "NEW" never on the track, but I'm still describing it as used because of the minor but easily replacible small parts that are missing. This vintage item is in good working condition, and runs smooth in forward & reverse. Because it has not been used, and in storage for years it needs a little coaxing to get it going but once it warms up it runs like new with real working headlight & cabin lights. The tampo's/markings look excellent and there is no wear on either side. They are the "BIG" Santa Fe road name logo on both sides, and road number 3500 under the cabin windows, the War Bonnet Decal on the nose. Given the age of this fantastic working, GP38-2 Diesel Engine that's not bad, and any light wear always adds to the Diesel Engine for the look of realism~! This GP-38 Engine is a 4 wheel drive unit, it has a unique vertical truck mounted style motor that powers the weighted trucks for optimum pulling power, and It runs good in forward and reverse. There are no missing steps, or ladders, and the plastic railings are 100% there all around the entire unit. However they may need to be tacked down in a couple of places with some glue, which is a very quick and easy fix. It has metal drive axle wheels with detailed precision cast plastic trucks, and it's in overall very good running condition. The tampo's are SANTA FE ROUTE; with UNIT # 3500 appearing on both sides ; AND THE BIG SATA FE Logo also on both sides. Also the Santa Fe War Bonnet LOGO is intact on the nose of the engine. A really nice running Train Engine just like the real thing.
