Life-Size Allosaurus Skull Museum Quality Replica Up for auction is a 1/1 scale, full-sized scientific replica of an Allosaurus Skull. This specimen is from a full grown adult, and it measures 38 inches long, 20 inches high, and 18 inches wide. This piece is of the highest museum quality, and is truly massive. It is cast in rigid plastic resin which yields extremely realistic texture, and is the same material that is used to reproduce fossils for display in museums all over the world. The skull is also backfilled with hydrostone, and reinforced with steel for added strength. It's total weight is 42 lbs. The Allosaurus is one of the most famous dinosaurs ever discovered, and this exceptional fossil is a perfect representation of this legendary predator. -About Allosaurus- The massive carnivore Allosaurus ( A. fragilis ,) lived in North America during the middle Jurassic period. The adults measured over 32 feet in length, and were proficient hunters. This species has been the most common theropod found in the American southwest, and fossil records suggest that it dominated the entire Jurassic world (within it's range.) The importance of this species to paleontology has earned it paralleled popularity in modern culture.
