This is a Lifetime Rocking Chair, number 689, with original label, manufactured by Grand Rapids Bookcase and Chair Co. in Hastings, Michigan.It is beautifully scaled and a true celebration of simplicity and function. The chair is oak with wonderful color and original finish. The joints are very solid. The back has two wide vertical slats and the arms have three vertical slats with a corbel under each. The top of each arm has a square slightly raised finial (?). The drop-in seat is not original and has been recovered in good quality dark brown leather. The chair has marks and scuffs from use and needs a good cleaning. The tops of the arms are lighter in color due to wear. This chair is available for pick-up in Northern California. If you wish to have it shipped, please contact (or another shipper of your choice) and make arrangements for blanket wrap or crating. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs.
