This item is a pair of Lightning Bunion Pliers used by Cobblers (shoe repairmen) to stretch a particular spot on a boot w the leather has shrunk. These pliers were manufactured by Lightning of Fulton, Illinois. The pliers were patented on October 12, 1897. The pliers are cast iron and measure 17" in length. Am selling this old tool in an "as found" condition. I have not attempted to clean/lubricate the tool. Tool appears to be intact and in good, usable condition. Lettering is worn and the spring protrudes from the bottom of the pivot. T is some rust pitting and the tool has lost most of its original patina.
