Hi, this is for a very close to new Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri knife....... I have owned a number of kukri & as far as fit ,function & material, this is by far the best.....(the last official Gurkha issue Kukri I got had a fissure in the blade that went all the way through the edge) & the handle was not so comfortable.......... This has a 12" satin polished Carbon V blade with a 5" kraton handle is a somewhat traditional configuration...... the blade is 5/16ths of an inch thick with a taper towards the point,in a straight V cross section, the blade geometry is excellent & well balanced, the weight is distributed well & falls back to your hand while holding it up,it has a much lighter feel than the actual weight, the movement is very graceful & well controlled....the handle is very comfortable & offers good control over the blade & a secure grip also..... I have some Carbon V throwing knives & they can take some abuse, even after quite a bit of throwing,thay hardly look touched....so this Kukri ought to be able to handle most anything...... I understand that on the Cold Steel DVD these cut through a 6" rope in a single stroke.....I would not doubt it, this has a very powerful,graceful swing to it..
