Clockmaker’s Cottage has been displayed in a closed curio in my home since 1987. It has no chips, cracks, repairs or other blemishes and is as if new. It comes with the factory box and deeds. The piece is 4.1 ins tall and 4.15 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep the shipping weight will be around 3.0lbs

Clockmaker’s Cottage is typical of Gothic structures built as gate houses to large estates in the 19 th century. The Gothic style was popularized by Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s consort. As time went by the large private estates became difficult to maintain by their previously very rich owners and many outer buildings were sold off. This one was bought by a local watchmaker and jeweller who had a store in the nearby town.

The Gothic style featured castellated and mullioned window surrounds, complex tiling patterns and very decorative molded brick chimneys. This cottage has these and also solid oak carved front and back doors and decorative walls and steps. The roof over the observation room at the corner of the house is unique.
