My name is Linda Hill and I'm the sole artist behind LilyBug Nursery. I have been creating these wonderful babies for about 4 years and enjoy it more each day. The sculpts and the painting/reborning techniques continue to push the boundaries of realism and as a painter/reborner, I'm continually researching and searching for new materials, ideas and ways to bring these sweet babies to life. Over the years, I have developed my own signature style of painting using GHSP. I use many, many translucent washes of color to build depth and realism for skin tones. I love micro rooting with the finest mohair or human hair in natural swirls and growth patterns. Choosing the appropriate clothing, staging, photography--I love it all. I want you to see what I see when I have completed the transition from baby doll to BABY! My little ones have found homes all over the world and each new mom has fallen in love with her new baby. I stand by my work 100%. I use only the finest materials in my creations. Quality, workmanship and integrity are the hallmarks of LilyBug Nursery. I am very honored to have been chosen to present this very realistic and beautiful baby girl, Kai, by the very talented sculptor Jannie deLange! Kai is a 20-inch full-body baby produced in the beautiful LDC Soft Line vinyl. Her full body is anatomically correct German glass eyes in a very dark baby blue Micro rooted soft and silky Slumberland mohair rooted with a natural swirl and growth pattern. Her black hair has been double sealed on the inside so it can be gently styled. I have shown pictures of her hair styled several ways--but it always looks good! Hand rooted upper lashes in matching mohair Painted with GHSP in many many layers of translucent washes to achieve a dimensional depth of a young Asian baby with a warm honey-velvet skin tone. Kai has veining, capillaries, shading and some mottling--not overdone! Paints are permanent and will not rub off or fade over time Her little fingers and toes have subtle realistic nails Kai has been weighted to feel like a real baby using fine glass beads and wonderfully soft fiberfill. She is gently weighted so as not to lose the feel of the soft LDC vinyl. I never use sand in any of my babies so they are always safe for international shipping. Kai's lovely layette was chosen just for her to complement her beautiful honey toned skin! My studio and home are 100% smoke free Photos have been taken in natural light at different times of day and under normal home lighting Kai has a very special layette that was chosen just for her:Her beautiful and elegant baby taupe and white knit outfit from Paz Rodriquez of Spain is perfect for for those special occasions. The 2-piece outfit has a matching knit panty and the cutest little shoes. The shoes are white with taupe polka dots,with dainty pink trim and pink ribbons. A pink ribbon for her hair completes the look. (Doll Dreams carries the Paz Rodriquez line of clothing)For play time, Kai has a darling little blue and white striped romper with a white sailor collar and a matching ribbon for her hair.
