LIMBERT, ARTS AND CRAFTS, MISSION STYLE, OAK BOOK STAND You are bidding on original Limbert's arts and craft's style book stand .The stand is clearly marked at the bottom of the stand with the Limbert brand "see photos". This book stand is made of sturdy white oak and is solid in its construction as you would expect from such a fine maker as Limbert's. This bookstand measures about 28 ¼ inches tall by 16 ¼ wide by 9 7/8 at the deepest part of its base. The piece appears to be marked very lightly next to the brand at the bottom of the stand #362. Unfortunately at one time this stand may have been painted as it shows signs of being stripped and has slight small paint fragments still on it in some areas along with sanding marks. The top of the stand has a separation of the joint probably due to the normal expansion and contraction of the wood over its lifetime. Someone at one time put filler in this gap and most of it has fallen out. This gap can be repaired probably by clearing out the joint and re-gluing and clamping it. The original stain or fuming seems to be mostly intact but probably has lost some color due to its prior stripping. We have applied a small amount of bees wax to bring out its color and feed the wood but this should not affect your ability to refinish it or restore it if you choose. What a great little Limbert stand to add to your collection. This stand would look great displaying your art & crafts pottery or collection of books.
