Fantastic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs limited edition cel This limited edition (500, plus 25 artist's proofs) of two hand-painted character cels (with backgrounds) from Walt Disney's first feature length animated film. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is one of a series of selected limited editions of original artwork from cartoon classics issued by the Walt Disney Company. Since the original cels used in the production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are no longer available, the Studio has recreated the artwork using special techniques. The original animation drawings were inked by a Disney artist, and this inked line was transferred to acetate plastic "cels" by a special Xerox process. The colors are Disney created acrylic based paints that were hand applied by Disney painters. To permanently protect the delicate lines and paints, each limited edition cel in this series has been laminated on both sides with a clear plastic. The background scenes for these cells have been faithfully reproduced by a Disney background artist. T were 2 cel setups in this series. This one up for auction with the wicked Queen is from Sequence 2B, scene 8 (ordering her huntsman to kill Snow White, The Queen tells him to bring back the princesses's heart as proof of her death.) This cel is matted and framed in a brushed silver frame. Total measurements are 23" by 18.5" framed. Visible cel measurements are 15" by 11".
