The gold design is not simply painted on the Limoges Box,

it was actually sculpted into the wet porcelain!

Sculpted embossing is almost a lost art in porcelain.

This is one of the finest boxes we have ever owned. It was #29 of the only 999 that were produced. After sculpting, the gold paint is applied by hand and fired. It is then hand painted with shaded pink roses and shaded green leaves. It is then fired again. The inside of the box also has a painted rose.

The clasp is appropriately
