Up for auction is a wonderful old Handpainted Limoges Game Bird Plate. It is of a Dead Game Bird. Artist signed, "ROCH" he is one of the best Limoges porcelain decorators of the period. The French loved dead, and stuffed birds in this era. You do not see this charger very often. It displays a white dead game bird hanging upside down on a dark reddish salmon background. T is a pre drilled hole from the factory for hanging. It measures 11" across. It has the famous torch mark that Flambeau China uses. This plate dates 1890's-1914. This plate is in excellent condition with exception of alittle wear on the gold on the underneath edge, I not so sure if this isn't the way it was painted, it's very evenly worn. It weighs appr. 3 pounds with wrapping. I ship zip code to zip code.
