Welcome to my semi-annual Limoges Porcelain Auctions. I will be listing over 100 items throughout the month, so please check back weekly. Several pieces from my private collection, as well as many estate finds, will be auctioned. Hand-painted and elaborately decorated Limoges art objects, decorative accessories, and table china with varying subject matter will be showcased (i.e. scenic & figural decor, floral and fruits themes, fish and game designs, etc). Check my feedbacks and bid with confidence. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. Up for auction is a lovely hand-painted barrel-shaped tankard that is elaborate in detail. Large clusters of white flowers (mums?) on a dark cream background with pink, blue, and orange accents. Artist signed by L.H. Turner. The blended hues and flowing lines are representative of the classic Limoges style. This piece is also exceptional since it is glazed insuring that the painting will never wear- uncommon among many older pieces.This painted tankard goes just wonderful with a cake plate I have up for a separate auction (see last pict). It is 5 inches tall and 6 inches across including handle. No chips, cracks, or repairs-excellent condition. It is marked AKD (Klingenberg/Dwenger) dating this piece to 1890-1910 (according to Mary Gaston'e Encyclopedia of Limoges, Third Edition).
