THIS VICTORIAN-STYLE LIMOGES CYLINDER VASE IS PROBABLY FROM THE 1920'S OR 30'S; IT'S UNUSUALLY LARGE FOR CYLINDER-SHAPED HAND-PAINTED PORCELAIN, STANDING A FULL 16" HIGH AND 17" ALL THE WAY AROUND. SEEMS LIKE THE KIND THEY PUT ON THE FLOOR TO HOLD PEACOCK FEATHERS, OR ON GRAND PIANO OR OTHER LARGE PIECE OF FURNITURE. THE FRONT & BACK ARE FLAWLESS WITH EXQUISITE DETAIL & VIBRANT COLOR. THE TWO NARROW SIDES WITH NO PICTURE BUT JUST A GOLD WASH, HAVE BEEN RUBBED DOWN TO WHITE POCELAIN BASE IN PLACES (SEE PHOTO), BUT PORCELAIN STILL PERFECT ... BUT IF YOU JUST WANT TO SEE THE FRONT AND/OR BACK, OR IF YOU CAN GET A GOLD WASH ADDED TO THE SIDES -- THIS IS A PRICELESS TREASURE!! BOTTOM SAYS "PL" WITH A LINE UNDERNEATH, THEN "LIMOGES" AND UNDER THAT "FRANCE." ABSOLUTELY NO CRACKS OR CHIPS; PERFECT INSIDE AND OUT. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS.
