Up for auction is this awesome and rare example of Art Deco design from the 30's... Manufactured by Limousin in the 30's... It is a 3 semi-nude figural lamp... Figures are kneeling on a black marble base with their arms above their heads and at one time held, I have been told, most likely a bowl that would have held fruit... The ring attached to their hands is bronze... in the photos it appears to looked rusted, it is not, it has a beautiful bronze patina to it... Again, not sure what it originally held, could be anything from a bronze Deco flower pot with a plant, to a low profile frosted glass bowl for floating flowers, or a fish bowl as I chose to do, see photo, but bowl is not included with lamp...Many possibilities... The 3 figures are made of spelter and have no cracks or repairs... One of the black marble base's does have a crack across it, not very noticeable unless your looking for it, see photo... The lamp does work and has been re-wired, I believe it has the original porcelian topped socket and looks to be the original bulb? Measures across at widest point 19" and is 10" tall from tabletop to the top of lamp... bronze ring is 5 1/2" across... original satin glass light globe with awesome textured deco design is 6" tall.. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! The piece is signed and has the brass logo emblem that reads "Fabrication Francaise PARIS Made In France"...
