All Lincoln & Hamlin jugate ribbons are rare, commanding prices from high-four to low-five figures. This variety is certainly one of the best. Crisp as the day it was made, but a previous owner had backed it with a heavy brown paper, glued around the perimeter, probably to give it strength and durability since the silk on which these ribbons were printed was thin and delicate. There is a good possibility that an expert paper conservator could remove it from the backing, but since this was done decades ago and there is not a hint of discoloration or bleed-through, it might be just was well to enjoy it in this form.
