LINCOLN MEDAL – King 846 – Obv., A nude, bearded bust of Lincoln facing right. Inscription, “ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENT 1861-1865”. Above the bust date, “1809”. Below, the date, “1909”. Rev., Inscription in ten lines, “I SHALL TAKE THE GROUND THAT I THINK IS RIGHT FOR THE NORTH FOR THE SOUTH FOR THE EAST FOR THE WEST. ASTOR HOUSE SPEECH NEW YORK. FEB. 19, 1861”. Published by Thos. L. Elder in December, 1911. Dies destroyed. One of only 25 made from aluminum, 31mm., very good condition.
