This 8” plate is sealed in the original film wrap. The outer white box is torn at the seam of 2 corners as can be seen in photo. The box that the actual plate is stored in is in excellent condition including the velvet type material lining the box. Also included is a registration card and a card explaining the plate. The following has been copied from an enclosed card that will be included with this purchase:1972 Annual Mother’s Day Plate. Produced by The Lincoln Mint. This is the first in an annual series of limited edition Mother’s Day Plates, struck by the Lincoln Mint in solid sterling silver and 18k gold plated on sterling silver. The design is beautifully sculptured in bas-relief by the internationally renowned sculptor Alfred Brunettin from a painting by James Franzen.The following has been copied from an enclosed registration card that will be included with this purchase:This high relief plate is made from only the finest Sterling Silver that modern metallurgy can refine and produce. Prior to striking of your plate, the dies used were highly polished to provide you with the handsome--and valuable--mirror finish which is so highly prized by collectors.Each individual plate in this 1972 Mother’s Day Plate Series is numbered.
